Greater Topsail Community Garden

The community garden in Greater Topsail is a place of growth and hope. It is a major project of the Kiwanis Club of the Topsail Island Area. Specifically, our mission is to provide fresh food to our neighbors in need. First, we work together to plant and tend to our crops. Then, we harvest the food for local families. Growing Fresh Produce for Share the Table

Our community garden has a massive impact on local hunger. In fact, our team has donated hundreds of pounds of fresh produce to Share the Table. Furthermore, this food is worth thousands of dollars to our community. Consequently, local families get access to healthy meals they can afford. In addition, our all-volunteer team has put in over 590 hours of work. Indeed, we are proud to make a real difference through our love of nature.

Additionally, we offer many ways for you to get involved. First, you can stop by to help during our weekly harvest. Next, you can join us for a potluck garden party to meet new people. Finally, you can help us paint murals or fix tools in the shed. As a result, you can earn volunteer hours while enjoying the fresh air. Moreover, all ages are welcome to join our team of garden enthusiasts.

Working in the community garden is a great way to learn new skills. Specifically, we teach people how to grow food in our local soil. As a result, you can take these skills home to your own yard. Are you ready to get your hands dirty for a good cause? Specifically, we harvest every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Also, please remember to bring your water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat.
