Share The Table: Fighting Hunger in North Carolina

Share The Table is a faith-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ending hunger. Our mission is supported by local churches, civic groups, and businesses in Pender and Onslow Counties. Specifically, we help the working poor, seniors, and military families who face food insecurity. First, we identify the greatest needs in our community. How Share The Table Fights Food Insecurity

The need in our local area is very great. In fact, roughly 14% of people in Pender County are food insecure. In Onslow County, that number rises to 17%. Furthermore, the threat affects one out of every five children in our region. Consequently, Share The Table works hard to fight these statistics every single day. In addition, we offer a safe and welcoming space for everyone who visits us.

Our Core Programs and Services

Food Pantry: Families can shop for grocery items once per week at our location. Specifically, the pantry is open four days a week to serve you. First, visit us on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Next, we are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with morning and afternoon hours. Therefore, you can find a time that fits your busy schedule.

MUNCH Backpack Program: Specifically, this program provides meals until no child hungers. We team up with local schools to send food home with students every Friday. Additionally, our volunteers deliver these backpacks throughout the summer. Indeed, we even provide a food closet for the local high school to ensure no one goes hungry.

Free Community Meals: We offer a warm meal to anyone who is hungry or lonely. First, there are no eligibility requirements to eat. Next, families and individuals are always welcome to join us. Finally, our doors open at 4:30 pm every Sunday night. As a result, we create a sense of community while feeding those in need.
